According to OSHA regulation, engineering controls should be instituted to control health and safety problems. Typical examples are ventilation systems to convey contaminants away from the workplace, machine and conveyor guarding, platforms, fall protection systems, process safety controls, bulk chemical handling systems, double containment for pipes and tanks handling extremely hazardous chemicals and many others.

QEI Engineers, a full-service mechanical, electrical and process engineering company with considerable
experience designing safety systems for industrial plants, is our resource for engineering design. QEI Engineers is an associated company.

Process Safety and RMP
Process Safety and Risk Management Plans are closely associated OSHA and EPA programs to regulate the use of highly hazardous chemicals. Both programs rely on hazard analysis to evaluate potential risks to the workers and to nearby residents. Safety and health aspects of the
process chemicals along with emergency planning, maintenance, operations and training must be considered.

Code Compliance
Industrial plants and many commercial operations handling hazardous chemicals are subject to OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, and various building codes that regulate industrial and commercial operations, including the types and quantities of hazardous chemicals. We will review your operation to determine compliance with these codes.
